A hypnosis is an artificially induced state
of relaxation in which suggestibility is
heightened. The subject may carry out orders
after being awakened, and may be made
insensitive to pain. Hypnosis is sometimes
used to treat addictions to tobacco or
overeating, or to assist amnesia victims.
